I got this to use as a check register. It doesn’t let me enter a formula one time for the balance so I always have to stop at each entry and calculate the balance.Too time consuming.

Lost a hours of edits due to syncing problems

I used to be able to open Numbers, select IPhone storage, ICloud storage. Now all I see is “New Spreadsheet” or “Choose Template”. I have to use an outside browser app to see my files.

How do I disable autosave? I end up with 23 to 38 versions of the same file every time I try editing it which is quite confusing. The latest Numbers version of March 2025 takes up half my ipad's screen when launching. The top half is wasted space showing the name "Numbers". The bottom half shows the actual files so I am always having to scroll down a ways to get access to the file I often use instead of being able to immediately see the file tree selection when opening Numbers app.

can’t add any information to this need to add business name, address etc customers info, no apparent way to do anything except delete everything

I have an older I-phone 8+ and apparently the latest version of numbers doesn’t work so well with it. I can use the app just find on my phone. But cannot share data. When I do share data, even on my I-cloud it reverts to a older document from my phone and erases all the work I did on my (newer) tablet. These programs made by apple should work equally across all devices. These errors are simply ridiculous for the issue of dated versions. Aside from this I generally like numbers despite how clunky it feels to use after using excel at my job. Maybe it’s the lack of a tutorial? Maybe the series of menus inside menus… to find what you want? Not sure of a better way to do this on a touch screen. If it wasn’t for the version issue I’d say 4.5-5 stars.

Very hard to figure out the out and keeps lagging out sideways when my phone is 100% vertical

Numbers is an okay program, though not as intuitive as Excel. But I have it both on my iPhone and MacBook Pro, and it can take hours to sync, which makes it very inconvenient. There’s no obvious manual way to sync spreadsheets, and it’s a significant time waster and quite frustrating.

This is the easiest spreadsheet sheet to use, extremely user friendly I’ve learned how to use the basics in 1 hr.

Even drafts are swooped in like double time.

I am using the latest version of Numbers on both iPad and iPhone, with the newest iOS installed (18.3). When attempting to add a new data point to an existing graph, the selection dots don’t appear on the data table. The spreadsheet is not locked. I used to be able to “edit references”, then select an additional cell in my data column. Now I have to make the graph from scratch each month when I add a line in my data column.

I have been using it for a long time and now it’s shutting down at the middle of my project.

I love it!

This piece of garbage just kept putting a bubble in my way, while I edited a spreadsheet, that deleted most of what I spent a lot of time compiling as it slid down the page. I deleted this pieces of junk.

Apple developers please take note. Here are some notes I made for myself in Notes trying to find work-arounds for problem after problem I was having just trying to do a very simple sorting-by-topic of Bible verses that I copy-pasted for the Bible Equipd app: 2/14/2025 PROBLEM: When trying to edit existing text (as opposed to freshly laid text which didn't have the problem), hard returns not working in text and neither the cursor or text would move down. New SOLUTION 2/15: IMPORTANT!!! After pasting the scripture, tap on the far left ROW-master band \ stretch down to expand the cell \ edit text as you want. x/2... the following did not work today 2/15... Add an extra line or more when freshly pasting text. It seems like once the cell size is orginally established without any extra hard return spaces, it sets in and is much harder to add content later. But with extra lines, seem like it is much easier. PROBLEM: A few left side border lines are missing in one column of table. SOLUTION: Select cell \ FORMATING (BRUSH) \ CELL BORDER \ BORDER STYLE \ RESENT (or CURRENT BORDER STYLE). Works, done! 2/13/2025 PROBLEM: Difficult in placing cursor in end of text in a cell. SOLUTION: Double click not close to cell's edge but more inside to place cursor in the cell text, then move it to where you want it. PROBLEM: i my ipad 6th generation numbers app is super buggy in a number of ways: when clicked into text in a cell, the arrow keys will not move 1 space at a time. SOLUTION: At the bottom center of the spreadsheet screen, click on the keyboard symbol \ KEYBOARD SETTINGS \ turn off all the little fancy options. This solved multiple problems... The capitalization of all the letters in the subject colunmns. The red zigzag underlines in ever other word of text in the cell currently selected. The arrow keys started working correctly. Linc's theory: since these problems were not occuring in other apps, perhaps it is a Numbers app buggy inablity to have those features on. SOLUTION IN PART: While in Numbers, since it is so convenient accessing SETTINGS (per above) and each feature instantly goes into effect upon switching on or off, try turning on a potentially desireable feature, like SPELL CHECK, and see whether doing so introduces bugginess. Results: Turning on AUTO-CAPITALIZATION--caused all letter typed in subject columns to be capitalized. Turning on SPELL CHECKING--caused meaningless red underlines. UNDERLYING PROBLEM: In checking app's MOST RECENT REVIEWS, there were mostly 1-star ratings because the latest update brought many buggies as was mentioned by many reviewers. 2/12/2025 PROBLEM: When I'm typing text into a cell, regardless of format, whenever I hit the spacebar on the apple smart keyboard, the spreadsheet closes and the screen reverts to the files screen. SOLUTION: Check Settings >Accessibility > Keyboards > full Keyboard Access > Commands > Interaction section > Activate > remove Space. This actually solved the problem! "Ah of course - “accessibility,” the catch-all for those settings that don’t really belong anywhere else."

I have both an iPhone and a MacBook. I tried using Numbers for a few weeks to keep track of some stuff, and regularly got version conflict errors, or just plain non-updates from one device to the other. Both devices were always on WiFi. Really disappointed. How much do engineers get paid at Apple, and they can't even code a basic auto-push update correctly? Smh.

What I hate in this app is that I cant edit the docs after I save them. It’s ridiculous since I cant redo everything again or pay apps to convert that doc in editable. Something that must be fixed in this app

Not sure why this app causes the error message stating that there is an issue with billing. All other apps update with no problem

I can’t create or format text as lists in cells because the automatic list detection does not work, I also can’t add line breaks in text in cells with the push of a button. “Most innovative spreadsheet software?” I think not.

I love this app. I use it for fun. I even use it for scoreboards. There is one problem, it’s hard to explain so I can’t tell you. I want you to make it available for Samsung.

The app no longer works and in constantly crashing. I can’t do anything anymore

The Good: Numbers has features Excel doesn’t that make it different cool and very useful ways. My favorite being multiple, independent spreadsheets in the same document. The Bad: When using from a browser, spreadsheets freeze and numbers “goes offline” frequently during use causing syncing issues and entry delay. The Horrible: Spreadsheets take forever to load (spinning wheel loading spreadsheet…) and are glitchy with some features that lag or cease to function all together. I have been waiting an hour for a spreadsheet to load! I can’t use sheets that won’t open! As a loyal Apple device and app user…very disappointed and forced to consider using and promoting other options.

Numbers won’t even let me change the name of a spreadsheet anymore. The “operation is not supported.” It is good to have a spreadsheet available. If you go to the App Store and scroll down you can select developers website. Select “Go to support.” You’ll find the link under “resources” and “learn how to use numbers.” Scroll down again to “resources” and “user guides.” Select your platform and a lot of guidance can be found on how to utilize and get the most out of Numbers. Apple needs to add a quick link that you can select in the app instead of going thru all the above. I gave this 3 stars because 1) it’s available and free; 2)I just found the user guide, after I go thru it maybe I’ll give it more. For now I can only do relatively basic stuff. Whereas, I rock Excel 3) there is no easy way to get to the user guide and 4) what’s up with restricting renaming spreadsheets? I wish you could rename them in the initial list view instead of from within the document.

Inc. at the moment as my personal exp with this app is having others borrow it from my phone(w/o so much as a share-back). The 4 rating is simply from the HiCalibur people that have left reviews

Please update this dated app, ale it more Mobile Tablet friendly, and when choosing template, you should be able to preview and not show up as a file every time you preview. It should be responsive but we have to zoom in and out all the time.

Just downloaded the new update and now the app is completely nonfunctional. Does not let me type in a search And it acts like it's corrupt. Please fix as soon as possible since I use this for my work.

I like using numbers just fine … except I have some type opaque bubble that has appeared on every spreadsheet I open on my iPad. I don’t know how to get rid of it.

Doing anything is a total pain. Nothing about its is intuitive. It needs a toolbar to provide a simpler access all the hidden controls. Software was obviously designed for use with a mouse on a full screen, not by mini users. You cant select a group of cels without having it zoom way past the row or column where you wanted to stop and the keyboard (which is necessary to edit a cell formula) obscures about half the visible rows.

I like fun apps, but for anyone who needs a spreadsheet ASAP I can see useful.

It is an amazing app that lets you express and share your thoughts and feelings on a spreadsheet!!

So I was just planning a day out with my best friend and I ran into a glitch. I was trying to change something I wrote but instead it kept automatically scrolling down. Then when it was over, the autocorrect thing stayed up when I tried to stop it. Then I exited the app and the first thing I saw when I was THE AUTOCORRECT THING. I was in my home screen and then I entered App Store to report it and then it FINALLY stopped. This is the first time this has happened. But of course the app itself is awesome and SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO useful.

When using numbers in portrait mode on iPhone and tapping in a formula the = sign doesn’t do anything. You need to use the keyboard = instead. #NotTested

Do they even A-B test software at Apple? Space bar is high jacked in numbers and utilized as return char.

Trying to change headings and categories is difficult. Unable to modify heading to suite new categories

Numbers and Pages are the worst apps out there. Apple is like Nikon they need to get away from software and stick to the hardware. Everything in the apps is hidden and you can’t find any of the tools to make spreadsheets or documents. the apps for the Mac are completely different than the ones for a ipad and they hide everything in different places depending on which operating system your using. 👎👎👎

I made spreadsheets -SA test but l still need them for everybody to study & want them for sale.l was the only one who made it all. Please don’t ever expect others to Edit my Review or l will banish you from my test & never come back, It’s okay if you don’t want to have numbers after beacause after you already have it but before let me show you the rules. First I need to add the 10 spreadsheets then you add them your name you need to add the apps keynote)Files and pages to show what you did in numbers so you don’t have to click click click to download numbers all the time. Like I don’t want to download it anymore beacause I already know it all. So that means it’s not a impressive spreadsheet anymore now it’s Scarlett’s SA test sales. I started this lesson in 2024 & end it in 2030. Don’t press the download button because ⬆️,

Great but I think it needs more things to include in the school area because I teach a class of 24 and at least three students come up every day and say they want more stuff added here
